Welcome to ULC!
At ULC, we welcome one another as Christ has welcomed us. Since our simple beginnings in an East Lansing movie theater over 70 years ago, Jesus Christ has opened his arms to welcome and embrace all who come to ULC.
Combining community and campus members, ULC is a unique Evangelical Lutheran Church in America congregation. We enjoy a vigorous life of worship, learning, fellowship, and service to our local and worldwide community. We invite you to join us in our faith journey!
In response to God's unconditional love and grace, and in the name of Jesus, the mission of University Lutheran Church is to:
- Integrate our faith into all aspects of our daily lives.
- Nurture in each other a life-changing faith.
- Engage in vibrant worship, study and dialogue.
- Serve, care for and welcome everyone in our campus and surrounding communities.
- Support our local and global neighbors in need.
- Practice stewardship of God's creation.
An integrated family journeying faithfully together, inspired by God's grace, guided by Christ, and empowered and sustained by the Holy Spirit.
Statement of Intentional Welcome
In response to the call to Romans 15:7, "Welcome one another, therefore as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God," we believe that every person has worth as an individual and every person is entitled to dignity and respect.
We, therefore, publicly proclaim that:
We welcome people of any race, nationality, age, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression into the membership of our church, and we encourage everyone to share their faith, gifts and talents in worship, service, study and leadership;
We commit to remove all barriers that exclude people from full and active participation in our church;
We will continually strive to eliminate prejudice from our thoughts and actions and discourage prejudice by others at every opportunity.
